TRAIL Research Report: Needs, Barriers and Strategies for Inclusive Mobility

Through online survey, interview and focus with stakeholders of inclusive mobility across Europe, this report seeks to answer a critical question: How can the participation of disadvantaged learners in KA1 mobility actions be increased? 

Competence Framework for Inclusive Mobiity

The TRAIL Competence Framework details 25 competences relevant to educators and staff who develop, plan and implement inclusive mobility for disadvantaged learners. It covers all pre-mobility preparation, during mobility facilitation, post-mobility, and general competences.

Collection of Assessment Formats

This assessment catalogue offers accessible, competence-based tools for recognising and validating learning outcomes in mobility contexts, especially for disadvantaged adult learners. Designed to complement the TRAIL Competence Framework and LEVEL5 validation, the catalogue is a flexible resource trainer can adapt to their learners’ contexts.

Inclusive Mobility and Learning OER Repository

This curated collection of 46 Open Educational Resources (OER) supports inclusive learning and mobility. Hosted on a Moodle platform, it allows guest browsing—while registered users can suggest new entries. Resources are drawn from EU projects and categorised by topic, type, and language for easy integration into training, teaching, or project work.

Inclusive Mobility Pilot Implementation Report​

Report summarises the experiences of ten TRAIL inclusive mobility piloted across Europe. These pilots included 127 participants and covered various formats like KA1 group mobility, and  long term volunteering. The report highlights the learning design, delivery, and outcomes of each pilot, offering practical insights for creating inclusive, safe, and empowering mobility experiences.

TRAIL CPD Concept

The TRAIL CPD programme, “Facilitating Inclusive Mobility,” equips educators, trainers, and mobility coordinators with skills to support disadvantaged adult learners in international mobility. This Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Concept Report presents the overarching curriculum, structure, and learning elements of the TRAIL CPD for trainers and mobility practitioners.

Inclusive Mobility Quality Assurance and Label

TRAIL Inclusive Mobility Quality Assurance provides a comprehensive Quality Framework with practical criteria to guide adult education organisations in planning, delivering, and evaluating inclusive mobility experiences for disadvantaged learners. This document also includes a pathway to recognise high standard inclusive mobility through the TRAIL Badge.
