This prototype outlines an inclusive short-term KA1 mobility course designed through co-creation with disadvantaged learners.
Objectives include collecting learner needs upfront, co-designing the program with clear involvement and feedback spaces, and implementing tailored preparation strategies to ensure participation and success. The context emphasizes comprehensive support across the mobility cycle, from needs assessment to emotional/psychological care, using tools like infopacks, peer testimonies, and a dedicated Connectability APP.
Target Group:
Intended participants are adult learners with fewer opportunities, particularly those facing psychological/mental health challenges, physical disadvantages, or other barriers like language insecurity or low autonomy.
Beneficiaries include small groups needing 24/7 availability, with actions customized for emotional regulation, health needs, and social integration.
Challenges addressed:
- Cancellation risks due to anxiety
- language barriers
- intercultural shock
- health/mental well-being needs
- unfamiliar physical environments
- communication gaps.
Barriers include lack of preparation (expectations vs. reality), no coping strategies (calm kits, routines), and limited digital support.
Opportunities provided:
- Co-creation fosters ownership and clearness
- peer testimonies and live streaming build familiarity
- small activities/non-verbal communication enhance accessibility
- group duos and collective travel ensure safety
- intercultural exercises (drawing life comparisons, role scenes) promote integration and confidence.
Expected impacts include:
- increased participation and completion rates for disadvantaged learners
- boosted autonomy/well-being through structured routines and emotional support
- stronger intercultural competence via practical preparation.
It promotes inclusive mobility by demonstrating scalable, needs-based models that prevent exclusion, empower self-directed learning, and create replicable frameworks for KA1 programs, ultimately fostering labor market re-entry and social inclusion.
