The center is part of Escola Superior de Educação e Ciências Sociais of the Leiria Polytechnic’s has resources and personel qualified to promote the social inclusion of the population with specific needs through techniques and products within the digital accessibility, has and develops equipment’s and tools within this domain.

It is in Leiria, Portugal and welcomes adults from the district and IPLeiria higher education students 

Main objectives are to habilitate specific needs adults to the social participation using the digital accessibility tools. Support the use of different tools and strategies for each case and to develop new tools of digital accessibility.

Activities:

• Multiformat books, with the ability to be inclusive for special needs users.
• Project “mil brinquedos mil sorrisos” related to the adaptation of toys for children with special needs
• Welcomes researchers in the field of the digital inclusion of special needs citizens

Target Groups:

Adults with special needs that can benefit from digital tools for social inclusion.

Special support required:

The project welcomes special needs learners, evaluates and develops digital tools for inclusion and trains the learners on those.

Innovation:

Empowering special needs on the rights of citizenship and participation in the digital society and contributing to the increase of their communication skills and life quality, using digital tools and instruments.

Most of the technological tools used and developed are transferable to other centres.
